NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ISSUED “WEATHER BRIEFING UPDATE #3” 08-31-2024
- Scattered thunderstorms will develop early this afternoon in NW PA and move southeast through the evening.
- Damaging winds and heavy rainfall are the primary threats, but hail is also possible in the strongest storms.
- Rainfall totals will generally be between 0.5 and 1.5” with locally higher amounts possible.
- Flash flooding may occur in locations that receive heavy rainfall; as little as 1 to 1.5” of rain could induce flooding in particularly vulnerable locations.
